Responsibilities
Participate in the design, development, installation and configuration of predominately Linux-based systems, software and infrastructure
Monitor and maintain Linux infrastructure including hardware, software and associated services
Offer technical support for deployed solutions and perform regular maintenance and updates to ensure ongoing system reliability and performance
Work in value stream squads with minimal supervision to formulate, establish and implement patching policies and ensure cyber resilience
Manage and maintain the suite of operational computer systems and services hosted on Red Hat Enterprise/Linux platforms
Architect, establish, implement, and maintain patching policies for Red Hat Enterprise Linux-based systems
Review cyber security posture and implement security controls and best practices
Plan and deploy operating system and application upgrades and patches
Monitor and maintain the IT infrastructure and operations supported by the Linux Team
Interact with a variety of stakeholders and manage expectations to achieve optimal results
Participate in on-call and work outside of regular hours as needed
Requirements
Experience in the design, installation, maintenance and change management of Linux and related systems
Ability to work productively and autonomously in a small team
Ability to liaise with various stakeholders, including non-technical staff
High level of written and verbal communication skills including in writing technical documentation
Demonstrated experience in life-cycle management of Red Hat Enterprise Linux using Red Hat Satellite 6, Ansible, Puppet, GitLab
Demonstrated experience in life cycle management of various applications such as Red Hat Satellite, Ansible, Puppet, GitLab, Squid, mailman, Shibboleth, Apache, Wordpress and Drupal
Demonstrated experience in securing and hardening Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems against ISM controls and CIS benchmarks
Extensive hands-on experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems administration with configuration management through Red Hat Satellite, Puppet, and GitLab
Proven track record in proactively resolving BAU tickets and responding to all incidents in a timely manner
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build long standing relationships with clients
Experience in working across BAU and project initiatives and handle multiple priorities
Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance
