Are you a proactive and customer-focused professional seeking a dynamic role in a fast-paced research environment? As the Administration Officer for the Research Partnerships Office, you will play a pivotal role as the first point of contact for staff, visitors, and stakeholders at the Global Change Institute.
This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the day-to-day operations of a key UQ research function, while also supporting an ambitious team that fosters innovation and collaboration across various sectors.
In this role, you will manage a variety of office tasks, from administrative support and travel arrangements to assisting with events, building security, and maintaining key records. You will be integral in ensuring smooth and efficient processes, enabling the Research Partnerships team to focus on building and maintaining strategic relationships with industry, government and research organisations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality client service as the first point of contact for staff, visitors, and external stakeholders, offering timely and professional assistance via phone, email and in person to ensure smooth office operations.
- Manage a range of administrative tasks, including procurement, processing requisitions, coordinating travel arrangements, reconciling credit card transactions, maintaining office supplies, and handling room bookings for the Global Change Institute.
- Assist in organising events, provide secretariat support for committees and working groups, and ensure meeting rooms are prepared and equipped with necessary audio-visual resources.
- Administer building access requests through UQ systems, conduct regular security audits, and ensure all office spaces remain secure, clean and functional.

About You
- Strong client service orientation with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a busy office environment.
- Proficiency in using word-processing, spreadsheet software, and corporate databases.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in administrative tasks and record-keeping.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while adapting to changing demands and responsibilities.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia and a criminal check.
