As a Project Officer you will play a key role in supporting education and workforce capacity building projects as part of a multidisciplinary team of researchers in the area of intellectual disability health.
The first position will contribute to and support a wide range of projects and research within the National Centre, including the development of a new Knowledge Exchange Hub.
The second position will contribute to and support a wide range of projects and research within the National Centre, including building workforce and education capacity around intellectual disability health.
Requirements
Honours degree or equivalent in Health, Allied Health, Psychology, Computer Science or other relevant discipline with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, experience and understanding of the health care needs of marginalised populations, including people with intellectual disability and developmental disability.

Responsibilities
Coordinates mammalian cell culture and PCR processes, assists in designing research studies, and applies/instructs others in these techniques.
Contributes to in vitro research on extracellular vesicle therapeutics and troubleshoots scientific/technical equipment issues.
Maintains laboratory facilities and equipment, ensuring proper upkeep and functionality.
Contributes to the safe and efficient operation of research equipment, infrastructure, methodologies, and protocols, while ensuring proper storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals, equipment, and samples/specimens.
Assists with drafting research documentation, including ethics and funding applications, conducts literature searches and reviews, supports routine team administration, and helps prepare reports, graphs, figures, and presentations on research outcomes at various stages of the research cycle.
Any other duties as reasonably directed by your supervisor.
Requirements
Completion of a degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, biomedical sciences, or a related field; or a Diploma with relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training.
Excellent practical research skills and experience with methodologies and techniques, particularly mammalian cell culture and PCR.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and independently on routine procedures, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Well-organised, methodical, and self-motivated, with previous experience in a similar role considered favourable.
