The Centre’s team-based research is focused on how Australia’s weather is being reshaped by climate change. The Centre conducts blue-sky research with real-world applications for communities, industry and government. The research program is made up of six integrated Centre Projects: Weather System Dynamics; SSTs, Modes of Variability and Weather Systems; Weather Systems in a Warmer World; Weather Resources; High-Impact Weather; and Modelling Science. This position forms an integral part of the Centre Project: Modelling Science and the research software engineer will help the Centre achieve its ambitions for a new high-resolution coupled modelling system and will assist Centre researchers through a comprehensive training and support program.

Responsibilities
Act as Scrum Master or Project Manager as required for the BAU team and/or take on a lead role on specific project engagements; including team facilitation and planning.

Requirements

Demonstrated high level of attention to detail, including analytical skills with the ability to collect, interpret and evaluate both quantitative and qualitative data to successfully interpret requirements and deliver effective solutions.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and proven ability to create and deliver clear communications documentation, influence and negotiate to achieve successful outcomes.

Responsibilities
Coordinate and lead courses, tutorials, studio, field visits and/or other relevant classes in the discipline of city planning (at both an undergraduate and postgraduate level as applicable).
Contribute to the design and development of approaches to teaching and learning which prioritise Indigenous voices.
Help shape students who reflect and engage deeply with the process of unlearning and relearning (decolonising) and Indigenous Knowledge perspectives.
Develop cultural awareness and the integration of values of Country within city planning in meaningful and appropriate ways.
Develop a teaching philosophy and a critically reflective teaching practice that inspires student learning.
Contribute to the design and development of learning activities and resources, assessment and feedback using a range of suitable approaches and learning environments.
Contribute to the design, development, review, and administration of curriculum, including academic quality assurance and engagement with professional accreditation/organisation bodies such PIA.
Requirements
Level B - A Masters degree in a related discipline, and/or relevant professional experience
Demonstrated experience in successfully teaching at a university level
Evidence of and/or preparedness to undertake professional development of teaching practice
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Willingness and capacity to work effectively and sensitively with students, particularly on issues related to learning in individual and group situations and cross-cultural factors in the student experience
Demonstrated capacity to lead by example in supporting equal opportunity and equity, diversity and inclusion as they relate to staff and students

Knowledge of a range of pedagogical approaches with the skill, experience and creativity to develop this over time.
Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to work and influence across disciplines, schools, industry and professional accreditation bodies.
