Total remuneration package of up to $126,637 comprising base salary within the range of $98,473 to $108,237 plus 17% superannuation.
Responsibilities
Work with and provide expert advice to researchers across IMAS and partner organisations, ensuring the adoption of best data management practice, including adherence to FAIR principles and compliance with the Australian Code for Responsible Conduct of Research.
Provide training and education to researchers regarding data management best practice, and relevant policies and procedures.
Work closely with relevant IT and data management staff from the University and partner organisations to ensure operational availability of complex IT hardware and software infrastructure.
Support external users and stakeholders in accessing data published at IMAS.
Provide support to relevant computer and data committees.
Develop data visualisation tools, where possible based on existing infrastructure and data platforms.
Provide expertise in managing and manipulating research datasets and in online SQL databases.
Represent IMAS at relevant national and international meetings and travel to national data centres as necessary.
Requirements
A tertiary qualification in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and/or education training.
An advanced understanding of best practice in data management including the FAIR data principles and management of sensitive data.
Extensive experience in supporting and administering IT infrastructure and applications, preferably in a marine research facility.
Extensive knowledge and experience working with large datasets and associated storage environments including SQL databases.
Demonstrated experience and understanding of web applications, their design, development, and deployment.
