The incumbent will play a criterial role in overseeing the strategic planning, execution, and coordination of IT infrastructure projects across the audio-visual services, network services, and end-user computing streams. These projects could include the technology requirements for new and refurbished buildings or offices, technology uplifts, upgrades and/or replacements of IT infrastructure.
This role applies the university's approved project management methodologies to ensure project activities are planned, correct resources are allocated, and project milestones are tracked and delivered.
The incumbent facilitates clear and consistent communication across all levels, collaborating closely with DTS teams and engaging with stakeholders to ensure alignment of project objectives with broader institutional goals. This role ensures that the interdependencies among various technology projects are carefully managed to achieve comprehensive program success.
The successful applicant will have extensive experience in successfully managing large IT infrastructure projects ($5m+) of a strategic nature from design phase to operational stability. Including significant experience with geographically dispersed and highly scalable information management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in ICT strategic planning, driving transformative projects aligned with the university's goals.
- Manage project planning, risk assessment, and resource allocation within the Campus Technology Stream.
- Develop and manage work plans, timelines, and evaluation methods.
- Engage and manage consultant teams, manage the tender process, and ensure adherence to PMO methodologies.
- Provide comprehensive reporting to stakeholders, maintain key relationships, and ensure compliance with university policies and relevant legislation.
- Lead cross-functional teams, monitor financial expenditures, and address resource allocation issues.
- Ensure adherence to safety, anti-discrimination, and equal opportunity standards. Other related duties as required.
