Advising and supporting communications teams on appropriate representation of Indigenous stakeholders.
Exploring collaborative internship and commercial opportunities with Indigenous communities.
Identifying and mitigating risks impacting QAAFI’s collaboration with Indigenous stakeholders.
Promoting a collaborative partnership between the Deputy-Vice Chancellor (Indigenous Engagement) and other offices.
Identifying opportunities to work across other areas of UQ that intersect with QAAFI’s research activities.
Ensuring the identification and provision of culturally safe spaces to support staff wellness.
Requirements
Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander status as a genuine occupational requirement.
Qualifications and training equivalent of a postgraduate degree, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with Indigenous and non-Indigenous stakeholders.
Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous cultural heritage and economic development issues.
Highly effective communication skills, including facilitation and strategic relationship management.
Ability to initiate and implement strategic plans and programs.
Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Experience in liaising with external agencies to develop research initiatives.
Experience within or understanding of the agriculture and/or food sectors.
