Responsibilities
Provide specialised academic advice to students enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program at the Regional Clinical Unit (RCU).
Provide high quality academic leadership support and enhance the progression of students through each of the four years of the MD program, including academic guidance, remediation, pastoral care, career guidance and extension activities for students.
Maintain personal academic standing including the pursuit of research and scholarship.
Demonstrate personal effectiveness in supervision and management and development of student capability and skill.
Consistently demonstrate behaviours that align to the UQ values and contribute proactively and respectfully to the RCU and Learning Community.
Requirements
Medical qualification and a General Practice Specialist or non-GP Specialist qualification, with eligibility for registration as a medical practitioner in Australia, with AHPRA.
Experience in student support and/or clinical supervision of medical students and demonstrated skills in education at undergraduate, postgraduate level and/or professional level.
Demonstrated experience in teaching and knowledge of medical education.
Demonstrated ability to engage effectively in the scholarship of teaching and learning.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, establish effective relationships, and to manage disparate interests in an academic environment.
High level communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, colleagues and the relevant external partners.
A commitment to and an understanding of the issues surrounding, living and working in a rural and/or regional area.

Salary
