Lead the Advancement Services team to deliver high standard of service in data governance, information management, analytics and reporting, constituent research, gift processing, donor services and gift administration.
Oversee UNSW’s gift acceptance, receipting, and acknowledgement practices in accordance with Federal and State Legislation and within University policy.
Supervise, coach and mentor the team, including planning and allocating staff resources and managing performance to deliver consistent outcomes, accurate data, strategic insights and continuous improvements.
Work closely with the Senior Director of Development, Chief Development Officer and Director of Alumni Experience to develop and refine efficient/effective policies, procedures and business processes and supporting documentation that are alumni- and donor-centric, streamlined, timely and in line with ATO and CASE requirements.
Lead data-related initiatives in partnership with internal stakeholders and/or vendors to increase contactability and accuracy of alumni and donor data.
Build, manage and steward strong relationships with internal stakeholders within the Division and across the University, including essential partners in Finance, Legal, IT, Research, and Scholarships.
Contribute to the Division’s and the University’s overall success by providing highly effective oversight, support and evaluation of relevant projects, initiatives and other tasks as directed, in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders.
Ensure the Advancement CRM is fully functioning and of strategic use.
Ensure all CRM users are compliant, well supported and trained, and have access to comprehensive and relevant (up to date) supporting materials.
Requirements
A relevant tertiary qualification or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any combination of education, skills and experience.
Extensive professional experience in advancement services and leadership in a complex, data driven, service provision environment.
Exceptional stakeholder management skills and demonstrated experience in managing relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders.
Exceptional people management skills and a proven ability to drive high performance within a large services team.
Proven experience in providing high-level oversight of CRM systems (Raiser’s Edge NXT preferred) and analytics & reporting (Tableau preferred), preferably in a fundraising or sales environment.
An understanding of fundraising and alumni experience programs in a higher education setting, including alumni engagement, communications, major & principal gifts, community giving, stewardship, planned giving, and comprehensive fundraising campaigns.
Ability and capacity to direct and monitor the implementation and effectiveness of systems, processes and procedures.
