Fund an Indigenous doctorate candidate on subject matter relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation and leadership in politics.

Requirements
Be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who identify themselves as such, and are accepted by the community.
A Bachelor degree with first-class honours or second-class honours (Division A) or a Masters degree with a significant research component from a recognised institution.
A record of research or a qualification deemed comparable to a Bachelor degree with second-class honours (Division A).
Enrolment in the program must be full-time.

Responsibilities
Coordinates mammalian cell culture and PCR processes, assists in designing research studies, and applies/instructs others in these techniques.
Contributes to in vitro research on extracellular vesicle therapeutics and troubleshoots scientific/technical equipment issues.
Maintains laboratory facilities and equipment, ensuring proper upkeep and functionality.
Contributes to the safe and efficient operation of research equipment, infrastructure, methodologies, and protocols, while ensuring proper storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals, equipment, and samples/specimens.
Assists with drafting research documentation, including ethics and funding applications, conducts literature searches and reviews, supports routine team administration, and helps prepare reports, graphs, figures, and presentations on research outcomes at various stages of the research cycle.

Requirements
Completion of a degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, biomedical sciences, or a related field; or a Diploma with relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training.
Excellent practical research skills and experience with methodologies and techniques, particularly mammalian cell culture and PCR.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and independently on routine procedures, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Well-organised, methodical, and self-motivated, with previous experience in a similar role considered favourable.
