Support the development and maintenance of the UNSW Technology Strategic accountabilities for this role.
Lead the Portfolio Architecture function, develop and drive the creation of UNSW’s blueprints, reference architectures and roadmaps.
Develop the UNSW IT enterprise architecture to align with the UNSW Technology Strategy and its updates.
Support the solution architecture community by overseeing all portfolio architectures for strategic and prioritised technology and business projects.
Develop the UNSW Architecture body of knowledge, including artefacts, knowledge bases, domain architectures and standards.
Create and maintain frameworks, principles, policies, standards, guidelines and procedures to ensure that solutions are designed in alignment with Strategies, Enterprise Architecture and other specific Technical Guardrails.
Input to the investment and lifecycle planning to ensure that the underlying asset base that supports the University are sustainable.
Initiate and manage the investigation and development of innovative methods, practices and technology for UNSW IT.
Collaborate with the Director – Strategy and Architecture to lead the development of the annual IT portfolio of projects.
Maintain a strong understanding of the Higher Education and relevant industry.
Actively advocate and promote the importance of security within UNSW IT teams and the wider UNSW community.

Requirements
Significant experience at leading architects (direct and indirect) in a large complex technology and applications ecosystem.
Tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience in a related discipline with extensive leadership experience.
Significant experience in architecture layers including Business Architecture, Applications, Data & Integration, Technology.
Demonstrated experience in the creation and maintenance of Technology and Digital strategies.
Broad and deep expertise in all aspects of enterprise level technology environments and platforms.
Proven experience building strategy, enterprise architecture and information architecture functions.
Demonstrated understanding of procurement practices.
Demonstrated experience driving technology changes to achieve business outcomes.
Strong analytical skills, effective business planning and budgeting skills.
