Responsibilities
Provide in-house clinical diagnostic support within RVH Pathology.
Perform a range of activities and tasks under the direction of Veterinary Pathologists.
Work with animal materials, bio-hazardous and chemical materials.
Initiate improvements in lab maintenance systems and lab safety.
Requirements
Advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience in laboratory techniques in Biochemistry, Haematology and endocrinology in a diagnostic setting.
Knowledge in animal necropsy and dissection techniques.
Capacity to work independently and cooperatively in team projects.
Attention to detail in record keeping and documentation.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the application of ISO/IEC 17025 standard and Occupational Health, Safety & Welfare policies in a laboratory environment.
Ability to identify and contribute to improvements within the laboratory, its systems and laboratory safety.
High level of communication skills and ability to demonstrate initiative for continuous improvement.
Willingness to undergo training in other laboratory departments and assist with the teaching of students.
