Responsibilities
Serve as the primary resource for technical expertise, providing support for teaching and research activities, including instructing staff and students on laboratory equipment usage.
Manage the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards while facilitating the purchase of new equipment.
Oversee laboratory inventory and procurement of consumables, maintaining accurate documentation and records of teaching and research activities.
Ensure adherence to Quality and OHS requirements, conducting inspections, risk assessments, and supporting the facilitation of practical classes and off-site field trips.
Requirements
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
Customer service mindset with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
Familiarity with Australian occupational health and safety (OHS) legislation and laboratory regulatory requirements.
A relevant degree and/or trade, or an equivalent combination of experience and educational training in environmental hydrology.
Experience with measurement and analytical systems for water and environmental data collection, including data acquisition systems and telemetry.
Knowledge of compliance with Australian Standards, ASTM, ISO Standards, and NATA, along with adherence to state and federal government guidelines and regulations.
