Salary
  • UOM 6 – $96,459 – $104,413 p.a. plus 17% super

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary resource for technical expertise, providing support for teaching and research activities, including instructing staff and students on laboratory equipment usage.
  • Manage the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards while facilitating the purchase of new equipment.
  • Oversee laboratory inventory and procurement of consumables, maintaining accurate documentation and records of teaching and research activities.
  • Ensure adherence to Quality and OHS requirements, conducting inspections, risk assessments, and supporting the facilitation of practical classes and off-site field trips.

Requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
  • Customer service mindset with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
  • Familiarity with Australian occupational health and safety (OHS) legislation and laboratory regulatory requirements.
  • A relevant degree and/or trade, or an equivalent combination of experience and educational training in environmental hydrology.
  • Experience with measurement and analytical systems for water and environmental data collection, including data acquisition systems and telemetry.
  • Knowledge of compliance with Australian Standards, ASTM, ISO Standards, and NATA, along with adherence to state and federal government guidelines and regulations.
