Responsibilities
Co-ordinate recruitment, consent, and data collection for research grants on the economic and social impact on families affected by genetic conditions
Undertake economic and social impact questionnaires
Assist in the development of data dictionaries and enter data into an electronic database
Ensure data is carefully checked and assist with the preparation of ethics applications and amendments related to the project grant
Requirements
Relevant undergraduate degree and postgraduate qualification in Genetic Counselling or be Board Eligible in accordance with the Human Genetics Society of Australia
Prior experience and exposure as a genetic counsellor or in a related role such as research nurse or psychology
Demonstrated skills in navigating, data entry, and managing large datasets and databases
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and proficiently work independently
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with staff and multi-disciplinary teams, along with compassionately communicating with clients, families, and carers
Demonstrated ability to prioritize, convey initiative, and problem solve various work tasks
Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check required

Requirements

Skilled in metabolome, transcriptome, methylome, and epigenomic analyses metabolite extractions to statistical and graphic data output.
Adept at managing data and ensuring reproducible research with strong statistical foundations.
Ability to prepare milestone reports and write manuscripts for publication.

Responsibilities
Oversee the strategic vision and development of the Foundry in consultation with the Foundry Director

Requirements
Hold a PhD in molecular science or a relevant discipline with significant contributions to scholarship and research
Demonstrated academic leadership in synthetic biology and a sustained track record in competitive and/or industry research funding and partnerships
Working knowledge of access models to synthetic biology capability, experience managing projects using high throughput biofoundry capabilities and the successful oversight of a sustainable service facility
A track record of coaching, managing and developing a high performing team and fostering a culture of innovation and growth, including a track record of attracting and supervising HDR students to successful completion

Responsibilities
Coordinate sequencing runs across teams to ensure continuous operation and that contractual deadlines are met.
Independently perform post-sequencing data processing, utilising scripts and other tools developed by the Bioinformatics team to deliver results.
Evaluate sequencing results to ensure any data authorised for client release passes specifications.
Package and transfer data to clients and address any related enquiries.
Provide expert post-sequencing technical advice to clients, working with the bioinformatics team to resolve issues.
Overall responsibility for monitoring critical stock levels of sequencing reagents and ensuring resources are available for timely project completion.
Operate and maintain the Centre’s Illumina sequencers, providing back-up for the core sequencing staff member/s.
Train laboratory personnel in the operation of Illumina NGS sequencers including post-sequencing data processes as required.
Communicate and report to the Centre’s Service Managers on the progress of work.
Quality assurance: Responsible for following the relevant quality procedures and processes in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025.
Perform other appropriate duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director or Deputy Director of the Centre.

Requirements
A degree, Masters or PHD desirable, in molecular biology, genetics or a related discipline with demonstrated solid understanding of the principles of molecular biology, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any combination of education, training and/or experience.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated proficiency in using computers and various IT software, including the ability to run basic scripts, is required.

Prior work experience in an accredited or regulated laboratory is desirable.
