Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate recruitment, consent, and data collection for research grants on the economic and social impact on families affected by genetic conditions
  • Undertake economic and social impact questionnaires
  • Assist in the development of data dictionaries and enter data into an electronic database
  • Ensure data is carefully checked and assist with the preparation of ethics applications and amendments related to the project grant

Requirements

  • Relevant undergraduate degree and postgraduate qualification in Genetic Counselling or be Board Eligible in accordance with the Human Genetics Society of Australia
  • Prior experience and exposure as a genetic counsellor or in a related role such as research nurse or psychology
  • Demonstrated skills in navigating, data entry, and managing large datasets and databases
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and proficiently work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with staff and multi-disciplinary teams, along with compassionately communicating with clients, families, and carers
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, convey initiative, and problem solve various work tasks
  • Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check required
