Salary
- Take-home salary approximately $111K - $162K annually plus 17% superannuation. Your take-home salary will be dependent on your specific roster, including loadings of 50% for weekend shifts, 25% for night shifts, and 15% for afternoon shifts. The total package will be negotiated based on individual merits.
Responsibilities
- Managing cases presenting to the primary care service, including routine and urgent/emergency cases.
- Contribute to the emergency and urgent care service, covering day, weekend, and after-hours shifts.
- Engage in clinical teaching and instruction for undergraduate veterinary science and veterinary technology students.
- Provide clinical training and mentorship to small animal interns and junior clinicians.
- Collaborate closely with specialists and experienced clinicians across various disciplines to deliver exceptional care and expertise to our patients and clients.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in emergency and critical care, or any stage of the career journey.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, relationship-centred care to small animal patients and clients.
- BVSc (or equivalent) that is registrable in Queensland.
- Eligible candidates with the right to practice veterinary science outside Australia may obtain special registration as a veterinary surgeon or specialist for research or teaching roles at the University of Queensland, provided they have the relevant qualifications and experience.
- May be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.
- Evidence of immunisation against certain vaccine preventable diseases.
