Responsibilities
The Mental Health Nurse provides enhanced mental health triage services, emergency mental health care and support, facilitated access to specific mental health services, and support during recovery.
The position will take part in the development, implementation and coordination of mental health strategies to improve and facilitate mental health care of students.
Requirements
Education, training, and/or relevant experience equivalent to postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive experience delivering mental health nursing care.
Registered as a Mental Health Nurse with AHPRA combined with sound knowledge and understanding of QLD and National Legislation governing area of practice.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Proven experience in patient assessment, case management, individual and group therapy, mediation, and recent acute inpatient and/or community experience.
Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to clients from a diverse range of backgrounds.
Demonstrated ability to be flexible and respond to changing work priorities, as well as self-manage personal development and workloads.
Sound digital literacy skills with the ability to use a range of software packages.
