Base salary will be in the range $111,154 - $124,619 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 8)

Responsibilities

Coordinate project communication, lead engagement and change management activities, foster collaboration with First Nations communities and cultural institutions, and promote public outreach on repatriation through various initiatives.
Undertake research and analysis on Ancestral Remains and cultural heritage objects and conduct detailed project planning providing expert advice to ensure effective delivery of project priorities.
Coordinate the repatriation of Ancestral Remains and cultural heritage objects in line with cultural protocols and legislation, while providing project support through monitoring, reporting, and developing appropriate documentation to ensure alignment with time, cost, and quality standards.
Collaborate with the Repatriation Committee to support project governance and reporting, and plan and document repatriation activities for the UQ Repatriation Management Steering Committee while serving as Committee Secretariat.

Requirements

Relevant qualifications and experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies, Anthropology, Australian History, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience successfully managing medium to large projects, ideally within a large and/or complex organisational context.
High-level interpersonal skills, including the effective liaison and negotiation skills needed to develop and maintain strong working relationships within the School/Faculty/Institute/Portfolio, the wider University community and key external stakeholders.
Demonstrated high level organisational ability, attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines and manage competing priorities.
Proven track record of collaborating with First Nations peoples, corporations and community organisations.
Ability to work with and handle Ancestral Remains and culturally sensitive objects, and awareness of related cultural protocols.
Demonstrated experience and understanding of working within relevant heritage legislation, guidelines and best practice is desirable.
Previous project management experience within a tertiary and/or research institution would be highly valued.
You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply (visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment).
The successful candidate will also be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks including an education check and criminal history check.
