Responsibilities
Proactively engage with university leaders and stakeholders to build awareness of the UNSW EPMO Change CoE
Build and manage the enterprise view of change impacts across university initiatives, identifying cross-faculty / divisional impacts and interdependencies arising from the change management portfolio.
Lead the development and analysis of change updates and for EPMO governance and reporting.
Provide thought leadership and change management advice for complex organisational change needs, actively collaborating with Faculty and Divisional Leaders to identify change approaches that support a holistic enterprise view of change.
Recruit, lead and manage a team of change professionals to drive a successful implementation, engagement, consultation, adoption, management and realisation of benefits for the programs of work and initiatives across the university.
Review business cases to ensure change impacts and resourcing have been captured, considered and communicated to key stakeholders prior to being submitted through the planning governance process.
Contribute to and build the UNSW EPMO CoE through the development and implementation of a pragmatic standard approach to project change and lead the design of change management tools, templates and communities of practice.
Build and recruit the enterprise-wide change management capability, capacity, and skills in the impacted areas through coaching/mentoring support for Senior Leaders within the business units to build change capability.
Support projects scope out their plan and resource approximately.
Support in project or program delivery (when required).
Work with the UNSW Risk unit to ensure project risks are captured and reported.
Deputise for the Director, Transformation & EPMO where required.
Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline with extensive experience in leading and delivering effective change management outcomes in large scale transformative programs that include changes to people, organisational structures and culture, technology, process, finance and operations.
Extensive experience engaging and working with all levels of stakeholders and providing coaching and mentorship.
Proven experience in different project management methodologies and frameworks in designing change management approaches and deliverables.
Effective self-leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, and importantly, the ability to influence stakeholders and lead a team of change professionals.
Excellent skills in planning and prioritising activities with the ability to pivot to manage multiple tasks, establish priorities and meet strict and/or tight deadlines in a complex environment.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to work systematically to quickly understand complex business and systems, anticipate implications, to identify and advise on fit-for-purpose change approaches and deliverables at an enterprise (whole organisation) level.
Experienced in understanding of the context and culture of the higher education sector (highly desirable).
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to write concisely and persuasively to a wide range of audiences, in particular to governance committees.

Apply an agreed change management approach and methodology to develop fit for purpose Change Strategies.
Undertake detailed impact assessment and use the insights to tailor the delivery of change management interventions, including consideration of the UNSW change landscape and existing activities, as well as the academics calendars.
Support the UNSW Leadership Team (e.g., Faculty Executive Director, Dean, Heads of School, business unit Directors) to effectively deliver leader-led change communications.
Develop a fit for purpose change communications approaches, appropriate to the complexity of the proposed changes and aligned with UNSW communications channels and brand standards.
Develop high quality change management deliverables.
Identify and manage change related risk (people, operations, organisational), including impacts associated with the change, development of mitigation plans with associated costs and benefits.
Build change maturity, capability and capacity in the project teams and beyond. Provide change coaching/mentoring support for Senior Leaders to build change capability.
Establish and maintain positive, productive relationships with key stakeholders.
Develop and maintain project stakeholder matrix and engagement plan(s).
Work with the Faculty/Division Business Partners to identify most effective engagement channels and key messages within Faculties/Divisions. Assist to coordinate and establish formal / informal change networks across the University.
Actively seek feedback to help measure the effectiveness of stakeholder engagement and change management activities.
Collaborate with peers in the UNSW IT Change Management Practice and other change practitioners to ensure consistency of approach and stakeholder satisfaction.

Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and / or solid experience in delivering effective change management in large scale project include changes to people, structures, technology, process, finance, and operations.
Experience working as a senior change professional within an IT transformational program.
Effective self-leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, and importantly, the ability to influence stakeholders.
Knowledge and experience of working with a project management framework, including linking this with change management deliverables.
Capacity to plan to achieve priority outcomes and respond flexibly to changing and at times ambiguous environments; ability to work systematically to resolve problems, identify causes, anticipate implications, and make informed decisions.
Experience in designing and applying fit-for-purpose change approaches and deliverables; an understanding of the context and culture of the higher education sector (preferred but not essential).
Ability to work in a highly adaptable and consultative manner, working in a collaborative way to deliver the best outcomes.
Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to navigate through competing deadlines.
