Level A.6 – $105,518 p.a. plus 17% super
Responsibilities
Teach studio-based dance classes at all levels including dance techniques, choreography, improvisation and interdisciplinary practices
Supervise project-based learning at Undergraduate level
Deliver seminars and tutorials on dance theory and discourse as required
Facilitate student engagement and participation through portfolio-based teaching and learning
Initiate and develop high quality subject materials
Undertake consultation with students and marking and assessment as appropriate
Undertake subject coordination along with associated administrative tasks
Effective management and coordination of casual staff members
Conduct research through active involvement in professional activity
Requirements
Established reputation as a Dance Artist with a demonstrated record of excellence in professional practice
A PhD or Masters degree will be highly regarded but equivalent professional practice will be actively considered
Demonstrated experience in teaching excellence at the undergraduate level in a tertiary institution
Ability to work collegially as a member of Dance programs, and with other staff across the VCA and more broadly across the university
Demonstrated capacity to deliver training programs in a cost-effective way
Experience in developing resource materials for learning and teaching
Strong interpersonal skills, recognising and respecting diversity and personal differences
