Requirements
Proven experience in preparing and delivering university-level teaching materials in environmental building design, sustainable construction, and building services
Comfortable teaching both face-to-face and online, using various methods across different class sizes
Familiarity with key concepts such as environmental comfort, post-occupancy evaluation, mechanical system efficiency, passive design techniques, and life cycle assessment
Knowledge or experience with building energy efficiency software like FirstRate 5 and Green Star or equivalent certification schemes
Ability to bridge the gap between construction management and sustainable building design
A PhD in the relevant discipline or near completion, or a Masters with relevant sustained teaching/practice experience
Demonstrated ability to work effectively both autonomously and within a team environment
Demonstrated teaching experience within the discipline in both undergraduate and graduate courses

Responsibilities
Demonstrate and continuously develop a well-defined teaching philosophy that inspires student learning in architecture, construction and structures courses.
Conduct and lead classes, assess student learning achievements and support students in both postgraduate and undergraduate courses.
Design and develop learning activities and resources, and assessment and feedback using a range of approaches and learning environments.
Lead the design/development of innovative approaches to architecture and construction teaching and learning and participate in the exchange of these approaches with colleagues across the School.
Support learning progression with students to achieve high levels of student satisfaction, and high employability outcomes aligned with industry needs (including these changing needs in the future).
Manage course administration as Course Authority, including academic quality assurance.
Requirements
Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery of architecture and construction courses at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
Experience as a university-level teacher and/or convenor within architectural construction and structures courses.
Actively stays up to date with discipline knowledge and professional development in architecture, construction and structures.
Evidence of teaching effectiveness and a record of educational excellence (e.g. relevant discipline-based course design and development at a variety of levels and scales).
Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience in architecture and construction (for Level C).
Evidence of leading innovation and experimentation in architecture and construction course delivery and achieving exceptional student outcomes (for instance, embedding sustainability, carbon, and circular concepts within construction courses) (for Level C).
Demonstrated success in initiating course and curriculum development and improvement (for Level C).
Demonstrated experience as a recognised authority in the area of architectural construction and structures, with a record of engaging in discourse at a local and emerging national level (for Level C).
