Responsibilities
- Conduct genomic and RNA sequencing analyses of subterranean and surface beetle species.
- Characterise chemosensory and additional gene families showing adaptive or regressive patterns of evolution.
- Investigate evolution of genes related to fitness, including those involved in finding food and mates.
- Collaborate with project collaborators from various institutions.
- Utilise state of the art equipment for NGS library preparation and genomic sequence analyses.
Requirements
- A PhD in genetics or molecular biology or equivalent qualifications and extensive research experience in molecular evolution.
- Demonstrated wet lab experience and capability for NGS library preparation for genomic/transcriptomic analyses.
- Sound knowledge of molecular biology and its application in evolutionary biology.
- Ability to undertake independent research and lead research projects.
- Track record of quality publications and conference presentations.
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.

Salary
- $111,031 - $131,335 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a dynamic research program in botany.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary research within the School and wider academic community.
- Deliver botanical teaching in the School.
Requirements
- A PhD in botany/plant biology, or related field with a focus on native flora and/or invasive plant species and their impact on native ecosystems.
- A demonstrated track record of research excellence in plant biology as evidenced by publications in highly regarded peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- A demonstrated track record in securing research grant funding.
- A demonstrated track record of teaching excellence in plant biology in a variety of face-to-face and/or hybrid and online modes to actively engage and educate undergraduate students to ensure student success.
- Experience in research supervision including Honours and Higher Degree by Research Students.
