Responsibilities
Join the research team and contribute to the wider project while undertaking a distinct MA project.
Negotiate the details of the MA project that should contribute to areas of focus within the wider project such as Auslan teacher skills and training pathways, Auslan teacher cognition, and implementation and evaluation of Auslan learning resources in TAFE classrooms.
Work with teachers from Melbourne Polytechnic’s Auslan Program and potentially a wider group of Auslan teachers.
Integrate into an already successful research agenda funded by the Australian Research Council, with access to funding for fieldwork, transcription, travel, and conference attendance.
Benefit from expert supervision from research leaders and a pre-existing structure for the MA.
Requirements
Fluent Auslan user with demonstrated experience as an Auslan teacher and/or teacher trainer.
Strong links into the Deaf and Auslan teacher communities through lived experience or a track record of successful work/co-research with Deaf Auslan teachers.
Hold an Australian (or equivalent international) Honour’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field with a significant research component and first-class honours/H1 awarded.
Relevant research experience and/or industry experience beyond degree qualifications will be considered.
Familiarity with eligibility requirements for English-language proficiency skills to undertake a MA in the Faculty of Arts.
