Responsibilities
- Lead child related research activities within the project including ethics applications, recruitment of children and young people and communicating findings with this cohort.
- Lead clinical translation activities for the project including intervention manual and clinical practice guidelines.
- Oversee project budget with support from supervisor.
- Successfully collaborate with key stakeholders including healthcare organisations, healthcare workers, partners and family members engaged with the project.
- Oversee and facilitate the collection of qualitative and quantitative data related to young people for the project, analyse data, main data protocols and enter data into relevant databases in accordance with ethical guidelines.
Requirements
- PhD (completed or nearing completion) in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience
- Emerging reputation in research and scholarship through publications and/or exhibitions in qualitative methodologies and Delphi studies.
- Demonstrated organisational skills including the ability to maintain records for annual reports, ability to oversee a budget and manage timelines in research.
- Demonstrated ability to liaise with (and or negotiate with) research partners and manage complex client and stakeholder expectations and needs.
- Clinical skills in mental health related discipline (e.g. psychology, social work, nursing) would be a significant advantage.

- We are looking for a highly motivated Level B research-only academic to join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team working on two exciting projects at the forefront of computational social science, housed in the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision Making and Society.
- In this role, you’ll split your time between the Ad Observatory Project, managing and analysing data from the Ad Collection tool for mobile devices.
- You’ll help develop digital tools and dashboards, recruit and engage participants, and work on methods for collecting and organising donated data.
- The other focus will be the News Value Algorithm Project, where you will collaborate with industry partners and international researchers to create automated tools for ranking and sorting media content by public service values like diversity, timeliness, and newsworthiness.
