Responsibilities
Influence the development of the Nexus pathway into teaching and course development to support the Nexus team.
Design and implement innovative curriculum to support educators in regional, rural and low SES schools.
Manage and engage in projects with the Nexus team to develop research projects and high-impact research outputs.
Contribute to enhancing the reputation of La Trobe as a leader in teacher education for regional, rural and urban low SES schools.
Foster excellence in teaching and research across the school, La Trobe and the broader community.
Requirements
Current understanding of theories, trends and education reform for preparing teachers for regional, rural and urban low SES schools.
Demonstrated ability to engage in research and implement curriculum and professional programs in teacher education.
Ability to innovate and implement evidence-based approaches to inform teaching, learning and curriculum development.
Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, curriculum development and subject coordination, evidenced by high results on student feedback surveys or teaching excellence awards.
Ability to conduct and publish high-quality, high-impact research.
Capability to collaborate with stakeholders, industry and community partners to enhance teaching and research initiatives.
High level oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with diverse backgrounds.
Ability to work as a team member in a collaborative and collegial manner.
Completion of a PhD or equivalent accreditation and standing recognized by the university/profession.

Responsibilities
Contribute to colleagues’ professional development in pedagogy, educational technology, emerging teaching practices and scholarly approaches to teaching through faculty and UNSW programs & initiatives
Demonstrate leadership and positively influence educational culture and community across Faculties
Undertake research related to teaching and learning, including in relation to SoTL
Analyse and collate key research findings on learning and teaching for dissemination internally
Contribute to the development of strategies, policies and procedures relating to learning and teaching
Collaborate with colleagues and other Nexus Fellows in the faculties to implement new local and institution-wide initiatives that seek to improve learning & teaching
Requirements
A PhD, ideally in a relevant discipline (but not essential – we welcome people coming from various PhD disciplines)
Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills, including the ability to influence others and drive change
Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, academic excellence, development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
Experience using artificial intelligence and/or designing learning or assessment activities in the context of artificial intelligence to enhance learning and student experience, with an emphasis on innovative assessment approaches
Experience in assessment and/or feedback design and/or improvement
Evidence of teaching effectiveness and a passion for educational excellence (e.g., relevant discipline- based curriculum design and development at a variety of levels and scales)
Demonstrated capacity to contribute to the Scholarship of Teaching of Learning (SoTL). Ideally, you’ll have prior experience in writing/publishing in SoTL
