Responsibilities
Conduct research on gravitational wave sources and radio transients using radio interferometry.
Schedule observations and contribute to data reduction and analysis of radio interferometry data.
Focus on high angular resolution observations enabled by Very Long Baseline Interferometry facilities.
Investigate radio pulsars and their use in detecting nanohertz gravitational waves.
Explore electromagnetic counterparts to compact object mergers and study Fast Radio Bursts.
Pursue independent research aligned with the astrophysics of compact objects.
Requirements
Experience with radio interferometers and proficiency with radio astronomy data reduction software such as CASA, AIPS, difmap, or ParselTongue.
Knowledge of statistical techniques and modern scientific computing.
Ability to communicate scientific results effectively in both verbal and written forms.
Experience with Very Long Baseline Interferometry is desirable.
Research experience in fields related to compact object mergers, such as accretion, gravitational waves, and radio pulsars.
A PhD or equivalent in astrophysics or a closely related field.
