Responsibilities
Provide extensive support to young apprentices during their first year of training.
Assist apprentices in navigating the apprenticeship system and resolving issues.
Deliver customised advisory services, mentorship, and advocacy for apprentices.
Connect apprentices with a range of support services.
Offer support directly to apprentices, trainees, and employers in person at their workplaces.
Requirements
Extensive experience in mentoring, community development, or related apprenticeship services.
Understanding of the VET sector and the apprenticeship system within Australia.
Demonstrated experience in providing client support to apprentices or similar cohorts.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence decisions.
Highly developed liaison and coordination skills.
Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and cooperatively with stakeholders.
Excellent administration and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities
Undertake duties associated with learning the trade of fitting and machining
Undertake duties associated with the learning of skills associated with metal fabrication, welding, sheet metal work and carpentry
Undertake instructional training at a registered technical college to learn the trade of fitting and machining
Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the Workshop Supervisor.
Requirements
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at commencement of employment
Must have completed a minimum Year 10 Certificate (or equivalent) with studies in mathematics, science, English and industrial arts
Demonstrated aptitude and interest in mechanical technology, metalwork or woodwork
Capacity to fulfil on the job training
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to accept close supervision and instruction.
