Responsibilities
Apply technical knowledge in setting up, developing and ensuring the smooth running of undergraduate and postgraduate practicals covering the disciplines of Biology, Human Physiology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry and Food Technology as required within the College of Sport, Health and Engineering (CoSHE), First Year College and Victoria University Polytechnic.
Provide specialised training and technical support services to staff and postgraduate and undergraduate students on biological, chemical, microbiological and food technological techniques and laboratory equipment at the Footscray Park, Werribee West and other campuses as required.
Partake in regular testing, routine maintenance and general trouble-shooting of specialised equipment in the Biological, Chemical, Microbiological, and Food Technological areas in the Colleges’ laboratories to ensure equipment is in good operating order at all times.
Provide induction and training to staff and students in the use of both general and specialised equipment and ensuring all end users are competently trained.
