Responsibilities
Developing novel biomarkers aimed at understanding the patho-physiology underlying disabling symptoms of Parkinson’s disease and Dementia with Lewy Bodies.
Predicting the development of the disease from prodromal populations such as idiopathic REM sleep behaviour disorder.
Tracking the progression of the disease and generating translational insights from the patho-physiology of these disorders to guide therapeutic targets.
Working closely with the principal investigators of the program.
Supervising junior researchers within the laboratory.
Writing up findings and analyses for submission to high-impact peer-reviewed journals.
Developing new research ideas with the team.
Presenting findings at local, national, and international conferences.
Building and maintaining a reputation for academic excellence.
Requirements
PhD in neuroscience, neuro-imaging, physics, biomedical engineering, or related fields.
Previous experience in neuro-imaging, with functional neuro-imaging being desirable.
Experience or basic understanding of statistical or programming software/languages such as MATLAB, R, or Python.
Ability to manage large and complex research projects.
Excellent communication skills.
Demonstrated experience in all aspects of the research process, including study design and implementation, analysis, reporting, and publication of study findings.
