Provide Orientation and Onboarding sessions and resources for new Teaching Fellows and facilitate participation by new academic staff in any mandatory University programs.
Co-create teaching resources with casual Course Convenors and/or Teaching Fellows for course design, development, delivery, and assessment practices, including developing course outlines, Moodle course pages, course updates including updating library and learning resources.
Advise and assist the adoption and effective use of educational technologies including Moodle, Inspera, generative AI applications in teaching and learning, etc.
Work collaboratively as part of a wider team on the identification, development and delivery of academic support programs, initiatives and resources to build teaching capabilities. This may involve workshops, small group consultations, individual instruction and/or self-directed online resources.
Build and engage a Faculty cohort of sessional staff/Teaching Fellows and manage the Faculty level development, implementation and delivery of continuing professional development activities and resources for sessional staff and Teaching Fellows, in conjunction with relevant Divisional units.
Research, develop, disseminate and maintain relevant resources and toolkits, including self-directed training and support material, to enhance academic staff capability, particularly in best practice teaching.
Design, manage and regularly evaluate staff training and assisted programs to ensure educational quality and ongoing sustainability, including retention strategies in these programs, delivering training workshops and co-ordinating staff feedback.
Requirements
Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience relevant to educational programs and initiatives.
Demonstrated expertise in curriculum design and development.
Proven experience in delivering professional development for academic staff within higher education.
Strong knowledge of educational technologies and their application in higher education.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands and competing deadlines.
