Reporting to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, the Educational Support Coordinator provides administrative coordination and support for the CDM Office of Academic Affairs and faculty Course Directors in a variety of academic and administrative capacities and educational support services. The Educational Support Coordinator works closely with CDM administration, faculty, and professional staff to support core academic operations. This position also collaborates with the Student Affairs team, other professional CDM staff, and the Dean’s office to provide support for initiatives pursuant to the academic mission of the College.

Responsibilities | In coordination with the Academic and Student Affairs teams as well as the Dean’s office, this position will carry out all assigned daily administrative and operational duties related to supporting faculty and students, programs and services, and other key administrative functions that promote the College’s academic mission in a student-centered environment.
Provides a high level of administrative, communication, and organizational supportPrepares courses within the Learning Management System for each term and maintains them throughout the semesterUploads and enters information into Learning Management System and other appropriate software programsReviews and edits lecture capture filesBuilds and deploys electronic assessments and generates performance reportsProvides support for students requiring accommodations (proctoring)Assists with gathering information for electronic textbook order annually and maintains textbook lists for each classTrains students and faculty on academic software systemsPrepares and organizes data in reports; assists with data collection and maintains databases and spreadsheetsAssists with maintaining academic and course calendars and schedulesConfers regularly with the Academic Affairs teamServes as a resource for faculty who need assistance with classroom technologyAssists with monitoring compliance with academic-related policies and proceduresEnsures that the University’s intellectual property guidelines are followedPrepares reports, takes minutes, tracks actions and recommendations, and provides other support for CDM Committees as assignedCollects and maintains paper and electronic documentation and disseminates information as necessaryImplements and maintain records consistent with records retention policies and FERPAMaintains confidentiality and handles sensitive informationAssists with on-boarding of new faculty and staff and new student orientationResponds quickly to faculty or student concernsParticipates in the accreditation process and site visitsMaintains current knowledge of University policies and proceduresMaintains regular attendance and reliabilityAssists with new college programs, services, and initiatives, as necessaryPerforms other duties, as assigned
Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in any field and 1 to 3 years of relevant administrative experience in higher education or similar medical/dental organizational environment or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired
Knowledge of and experience working with a Learning Management Systems is preferred.Strong computer skills and extensive knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Google Docs and other programs such as Brightspace, Examsoft, CoursEval, VitalSource, and Ad Astra.Experience in academic affairs or educational support is preferredStrong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new software systemsExcellent oral, written, reading, and spelling/grammar skillsProven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesStrong planning, administrative, and organizational skillsAbility to build strong professional relationships and problem solve in team-based environmentDemonstrated effective interpersonal communication skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to provide excellent customer service and work effectively in a diverse communityGeneral understanding of higher education organizational structure and administrative operationsIn addition, the individual must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities, or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities
