Serves as the coordinator of first year co-curricular initiatives in concert with key UNE offices and staff including the key leaders of the College of Arts and Sciences and Westbrook College of Health Professions.
Develop, implement and assess a cohesive FYE co-curriculum that includes peer mentoring, living learning communities, and a wide variety of educational and social programming.
Develop the curriculum for, including materials and workshops, the ongoing training and education of FYE Living/ Learning, and Themed Living Communities.
Collaborate with a variety of academic and co-curricular units in the planning, implementation, and assessment of UNE’s Living/ Learning and Themed Living Communities
Serving as a liaison to the undergraduate colleges, provides support and resources pertinent to the delivery of first year experience courses.
Oversees all aspects of the FYE Mentor Program, including the recruitment and training of student mentors, and the marketing and evaluation of the program.
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate a team of dynamic student staff.
Assists in the training of the first-year area Resident Advisor team, and confer regularly with Area Coordinators on strategies to address trends and student success concerns using a wide variety of resources.
Work in partnership with the Director of Student Engagement to plan and implement the Undergraduate New Student Orientation Program, and coordinate Weeks of Welcome, Convocation, and Homecoming Weekend programs.
Develop and update marketing materials and tools for the First Year Experience, including website content, brochures, posters, bulletin boards, and social media accounts.
Serves on various campus-wide, divisional, and departmental committees.
Advise the First Year Class Council.
Assist in the planning and facilitation of the annual student leader hiring process.
Works closely with the Associate Provost for Student Success on a variety of student success initiatives.
Supports a variety of retention initiatives, and assists with the assessment of first year students using NSSE, SSI, and other appropriate survey instruments.
Collaborates with key stakeholders in the creation of a comprehensive parent/family outreach strategy.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Master’s Degree in Education, College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, or related discipline preferred and 2-4 years of professional experience, with specific familiarity of First Year student issues and programming desired or a combination of education and experience from which comparable skills and knowledge are acquired.
Experience executing and evaluating retention initiatives with a focus on demonstrated learning outcomes preferred.
Demonstrated success planning and implementing programs for students in transition.
Strong organizational and managerial success.
Success in establishing relationships and fostering collaborative partnerships.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
Technical skills, learning outcomes, and program assessment experience desirable.
Proven record of successfully employing social media and marketing strategies.
Strong communication in written and oral forms.

Experience in conducting human research (desirable).
