The University of New England College of Dental Medicine (UNE CDM) is seeking a Sterilization-Dispensary Assistant to join our Oral Health Center (OHC). The OHC Sterilization-Dispensary Assistant supports the clinical faculty, dental students, and other clinical support staff. This position reports to the Lead Sterilization and Dispensary Technician with a focus on preparing and sterilizing dental instruments, supplies, and equipment.

Responsibilities | The primary responsibilities of this role include:Follow infection control protocols and model protocols for studentsPrepare, sterilize and maintain dental instruments, supplies, and equipment to support clinic operationsMaintain inventory of clinic materials, supplies, and instrumentsQuality assessment and maintenance of dental instrumentsReport clinical equipment failures and maintain clinical equipment, as directedMaintain/record logs related to equipment operations, sterilization, and dispensingParticipate in required training and mandatory in-servicesOther duties as assigned
Qualifications | High School diploma and any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Additional preferred qualifications include:2 or more years of experience in clinic, hospital clinic, or dental officePreferred knowledge of dental instruments and terminologyAbility to effectively interact with faculty, professional staff, and students, and patientsExperience with computers, printers, copy machine operation, and telephone operationStrong commitment to excellent customer service and contributing to a positive clinical environment
