About the Role:
This position supports the Hospitality Senior Team Leader in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the Waterfront Pantry. Key responsibilities include organizing daily activities, directing the team on standards and processes, and handling setup and pack-up, café and waiter service, catering, large-scale functions, presentation, maintenance, cleanliness, and safety. Additionally, this role involves problem-solving to achieve high-end customer service and enhance the guest experience. Flexibility is required for this roster-based position, including working mornings, days, evenings, and weekends.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage workloads accurately to meet deadlines
- Sound project management skills and a proven track record in running large-scale events.
- Supervisory-level knowledge of local licensing laws and regulations for food and beverage preparation and service and a comprehensive understanding of the café, catering, and venues market.
- Proactive solution focused attitude and customer service skills focused on surpassing customer needs and expectations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong ability to take initiative, embrace challenges, and solve problems effectively and promptly.
- Demonstrated commitment to establishing and nurturing strong, value-based business relationships.
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification.
- The role requires the incumbent to apply and maintain a Working With Children Check.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Deliver customer service and hospitality to all visitors, guests and students at the university's Waterfront Pantry.
- Recognize the importance of teamwork and effective communication, fostering respectful rapport within the immediate team. Coach, guide, and support team members to achieve individual, team, and University goals.
- Clarify expectations and respond promptly to client requests, queries, or complaints to ensure client needs are met to agreed standards and timelines.
- Deliver effective and efficient outcomes and outputs against team and operational work plans.
- Build productive relationships with a diverse range of existing stakeholders and actively seek to maintain positive relationships.
- Take personal responsibility and show initiative to meeting goals and objectives contributing to an inclusive team environment.
