Salary
  • Salary package: $112,916- 128,026 per annum plus 17% superannuation

Responsibilities
  • Lead the College’s research program through personal research and curation of research from Pacific academics and policy-makers.
  • Establish and lead the College’s program of short-term research interns.
  • Assist the College’s research commentary on topical issues.
  • Attract funding to grow the College’s research program.
  • Involve in the College’s teaching programs.
  • Support the College’s diplomatic efforts across the Pacific, including work with Pacific governments on national security strategies.
  • Contribute to cross-disciplinary studies within the broader University environment.
  • Work in partnership with academic and professional staff to support strategic priorities.

Requirements
  • PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated research experience in Pacific studies or related areas.
  • Ability to lead research projects and manage interns.
  • Strong communication skills for engaging with academics and policy-makers.
  • Experience in attracting research funding.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Understanding of national security issues in the Pacific region.
