Salary
  • Research Living Allowance, valued at AUD$11,500 per annum 2024 full-time rate (indexed), paid monthly in Indonesian Rupiah. A tuition fee scholarship and a fieldwork bursary will also be provided.

Responsibilities
  • Pursuing research that explores the intersection of women rights and popular culture in post-1998 Indonesia.
  • Conducting transdisciplinary research building upon works in gender, policy and governance, social movements, culture, and media studies.
  • Developing insights that can shape future policy making efforts in addressing systemic inequalities.

Requirements
  • Must be an Indonesian citizen.
  • Excellent academic track record in governance and policy studies, gender studies, and media and film studies.
  • Competence in qualitative research methods is essential; quantitative skills are desirable.
  • Fulfill the criteria for PhD admission at Monash University, including English language proficiency.
