Salary
  • $106,228 - $117,718 (pro rata) + 17% Super + Leave Loading

Responsibilities
  • Contribute independently or as a team member in collaborative research with a focus to enhance the quality of research outcomes in the discipline area
  • Conduct qualitative research (as per the norms of the discipline) and contribute to scholarly output that is recognised by peers
  • Support the dissemination of research outcomes through appropriate channels and outlets
  • Undertake discipline-appropriate research activities, e.g. literature reviews, qualitative data gathering and analysis using appropriate research methods
  • Participate in and/or present at conferences and/or workshops relevant to the project as required
  • Assist with the supervision of research students in the research area where required
  • Assist with the development of submissions for human research ethics committees
  • Conduct qualitative interviews with people living with variations of sex characteristics and key stakeholders
  • Participate in data collection in other forms of qualitative research (workshops or focus groups) and contribute to the analysis of qualitative data in collaboration with supervisor

Requirements
  • A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience
  • Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake high quality qualitative research on sensitive issues and/or with people from marginalised populations. The successful applicant will need to be comfortable talking about bodies and sexual health and have experience building trust with participants and managing potential for distress
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research with limited supervision
  • Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships including with community partners
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders, including people living with innate variations of sex characteristics
  • Lived experience of innate variations of sex characteristics would be valued, but is not essential
