About You
As the Trades Innovation Centre Program Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of the RMIT Trades Innovation Centre at the Bundoora East campus. With the completion of the Centre on the horizon in December 2024, this is your opportunity to lay the foundations for an impressive launch of trades and related programs in 2025.
Your proactive approach will be essential as you tackle operational challenges that could impact the student experience. By working closely with our dedicated teaching staff and service teams, you will ensure that every stakeholder enjoys an outstanding experience. This hands-on role not only demands strategic thinking but also a commitment to problem-solving that will pave the way for exceptional outcomes. To be successful in this position, you’ll have:
- Demonstrated capacity to lead and manage a significant educational innovation project
- Comprehensive knowledge of the vocational education and training (VET) sector, with a deep understanding of industry training requirements
- Capacity to implement strategies that cater to diverse learning styles and needs
- Proven leadership skills, including the ability to negotiate, influence, motivate, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and cultivate meaningful partnerships with schools, tertiary institutions, industry, local government, and the community to create new opportunities for collaboration and growth.
- Capacity to implement innovative teaching and learning strategies, ensuring programs are inclusive of various learning styles, cultural and gender influences, and tailored to meet the needs of disadvantaged groups.
- Advanced skills in the use of information and communication technologies, particularly in the context of enhancing teaching, learning, and operational processes.
- Understanding of resource management principles, including finance, facilities management, occupational health and safety (OHS), Equal Opportunity, and Industrial Relations
- A demonstrated ability to ensure alignment with relevant industry standards and accreditation requirements in program implementation
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications and demonstrated experience in a leadership role within either the vocational education sector or the trades industry. You should possess substantial industry experience pertinent to the programs delivered at the Trades Innovation Centre.
- Vocational Competencies: The appointee must hold a relevant trade qualification or equivalent, with demonstrated industry experience in the trades or related fields relevant to the programs offered at the Trades Innovation Centre. Candidates with a post-graduate tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, such as education, project management, or leadership, and demonstrated contemporary vocational expertise will be preferred.
- Teaching Qualification: The appointee must hold the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent as a minimum qualification.
