Responsibilities
  • Guide transformative education initiatives that merge the academic and industry worlds, preparing students for thriving careers within Apple’s ecosystem.
  • Develop and deliver industry-aligned courses in partnership with Apple professionals, ensuring curriculum relevance through studio and project-based learning focused on design, coding, and user-centered technology.
  • Cultivate a thriving environment for research and research translation, promoting projects that leverage Apple’s platform, fostering innovation and entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Expand strategic relationships with Apple and other industry partners to enhance student learning experiences and open doors to impactful real-world applications.
  • Set the strategic direction of the Hub, establishing priorities aligned with RMIT’s vision.
  • Oversee the development of courses, minors or majors, and research initiatives with a focus on Apple technology, ensuring a real-world application in learning.
  • Champion interdisciplinary projects, integrating students from STEM and other fields to innovate within the Apple ecosystem.
  • Build and nurture collaborative partnerships across the university and with industry leaders, leveraging Apple technologies across RMIT’s educational offerings.
  • Coordinating the contributions of academics, mentors and developers to the hub activities.

Requirements
  • Established academic career relevant to the activities of HAPI at Level D/E.
  • A clear, visionary approach to leading education initiatives that bridge academia and industry.
  • Demonstrated strengths in creating effective learning environments for a diverse range of students, including through project-based learning.
  • Significant professional standing/leadership experience in Apple design and/or development education.
  • Proven ability to foster relationships with industry partners, particularly with large technology companies like Apple leading to impact.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, teamwork and organisational skills as well as demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and collegially to manage complex projects and engage multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience with leading and managing teams, effectively coordinating the integration of resources, processes, systems, people and policies.
  • Capacity to influence positive change within a complex organisational setting.
  • Extensive experience in supervising students and staff to deliver outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing and reviewing strategic initiatives.
  • Qualifications: relevant postgraduate qualification and relevant industry experience, with membership of associations/accreditations that are applicable to the role.
