Salary
  • Commencing salary: $80,243 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on technical support in teaching and research environments, in the discipline field of Optometry.
  • Collaborate with academics and students in a dynamic learning environment.
  • Train staff and students in the use of specialist equipment and ensure compliance with relevant safety standards.
  • Maintain and service laboratory equipment and assist with the procurement of consumables and small equipment to support teaching and research outcomes.

Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent experience in technical support.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in implementing policies and procedures to support technical teaching and research functions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computing skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and email.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
  • Some after-hours work may be required.
  • Experience in optics is highly desirable.
