Responsibilities
  • Deliver high quality teaching in Optometry as a Clinical Skills Instructor.
  • Teach clinical skills in the UWA pre-clinical skills lab.
  • Work collaboratively within teaching teams.
  • Support the University’s commitment to equity and diversity principles.
  • Participate in teaching into the Doctor of Optometry course.

Requirements
  • Current AHPRA registration.
  • Minimum 5-year experience as an Optometrist.
  • Therapeutically endorsed.
  • Formal tertiary qualification(s).
  • Relevant academic and clinical experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with flexible and innovative teaching methods, such as e-learning would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise students in a clinical environment.
  • Extensive clinical knowledge and proficient clinical skills across a full range of Optometric areas of specialities.
