Salary
  • Level A – $77,714 to $105,053 p.a. (plus 17% superannuation); Level B - $110,525 to $131,034 p.a. (plus 17% superannuation)

Responsibilities
  • Build a portfolio of research outputs within a well-established research team with decades of experience in wetland ecology
  • Utilise significant long-term datasets, including eight years of ultrasonic and acoustic data
  • Contribute to Honours and HDR supervision
  • Conduct innovative research to support the objectives of the Murrumbidgee MER Program
  • Evaluate the role of environmental water in supporting nationally important ecosystems
  • Understand hydrology-ecosystem relationships to inform biodiversity conservation management
  • Engage with a wide network of stakeholders, including universities, government agencies, industry partners, and regional communities
  • Prepare for regular travel within the region as part of job responsibilities

Requirements
  • Strong knowledge in ecological statistical modeling, ecoacoustics, or freshwater ecology
  • Proven ability to conduct high-quality research and produce significant research outputs
  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams and engaging with diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to disseminate research findings effectively
