Salary
  • Base salary will be in the range of $98,582 to $107,349 + 17% superannuation (HEW 7)

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership for data administration and database management within UQ Biological Resources (UQBR), ensuring efficient and secure data operations.
  • Collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders across the University to ensure that appropriate data management solutions are implemented and maintained.
  • Act as the service owner and technical advisor for nominated services, providing senior technical advice, support, training, and mentoring to other team members.
  • Lead and manage advancements focused on the continuous improvement of data administration and database management services, including the adoption of new technologies.
  • Undertake various operational and administrative tasks, such as preparing business cases, managing work requests, ensuring timely resolution of customer issues, and promoting sound cyber security practices in line with University policies.

Requirements
  • Qualifications in IT or Data Management equivalent to a degree, with at least four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education/training.
  • Proven experience in senior-level database administration, including operational process automation and managing complex data operations environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge and skills across various Database Management Systems, with a demonstrated ability to innovate and adopt new processes and technologies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with experience mentoring and training team members, and effectively collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to independently prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and solve complex problems through research or collaboration.
