Salary
  • $112,916-$128,026 per annum plus 17% superannuation

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to cutting-edge research in renewable energy systems and heavy industry decarbonisation.
  • Undertake novel reactor design/build/test activities.
  • Work on projects supported by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency and the Heavy Industry Low-Carbon Transition Cooperative Research Centre.

Requirements
  • Chemical/mechanical engineer or pyrometallurgist with strong interest in reactor design.
  • Experience with pyrometallurgy, hydrogen, direct reduction ironmaking, and/or high temperature industrial processes and materials.
  • Experience with computer-aided design, hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies, and/or engineering project management techniques.
  • Track record of establishing new experimental equipment in a university context and/or working safely with hazardous equipment.
  • Experience with data acquisition and control in a lab context.
  • Experience in numerical modelling of reacting flows and/or computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
