Salary
  • $95,053 - $105,611 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation.

Responsibilities
  • Work on two separate but related projects using Earth observation to measure vegetation responses to global change.
  • Investigate the usage of hyperspectral remote sensing with UAV LiDAR to examine differential vegetation recovery from bushfire in the SA EcoMap project.
  • Examine the impact of rising temperatures on reducing tropical forest canopy leaf area in the second project.

Requirements
  • A PhD in a relevant discipline and extensive research experience in remote sensing and vegetation ecology.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of remote sensing, statistics/machine learning, and programming analyses.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research in remote sensing of vegetation, including leading research and overseeing postgraduate and honours students.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across disciplines.
  • High level organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and manage workload within a busy environment to meet competing deadlines.
  • Track record of quality publications (or preprints) relative to opportunity and evidence of being involved in professional activities related to research.
