About the Role:
We’re looking for a passionate and innovative Teaching-Focused Academic to join our Engineering and Built Environment Program here at Victoria University. If you have a strong background in construction management, teaching experience, and a knack for creating engaging learning experiences, this could be a perfect fit.
You’ll be delivering courses for our Bachelor and Master of Construction Management programs, bringing industry insights and practical knowledge to the classroom. We’re looking for someone with solid industry connections and a deep understanding of current trends, who can inspire students and work collaboratively with colleagues and partners. Most importantly, we need someone committed to creating a supportive, inclusive learning environment that helps our diverse student community thrive.
This is a full-time position available at a Teaching Focused Academic B, $105,662 - $125,473 classification +17% superannuation working 36.75 hours per week over a continuing contract period.
About You:
An ideal applicant will hold a PhD in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline, bringing both academic and professional experience in teaching and industry practice. We're looking for a passionate educator with strong communication skills and a proven track record in curriculum development and student mentorship. Highly regarded traits include collaboration, adaptability, and a student-focused approach, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups. Duties
An example of duties you may perform will include:
- Deliver high-quality teaching in construction management and develop and review curriculum content, assessment, and learning materials to ensure alignment with current industry practices and emerging trends.
- Supervise student projects, including capstone projects, providing guidance and mentorship to support student learning and professional development.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with industry stakeholders to integrate practical, real-world scenarios into the curriculum.
