Responsibilities
  • Lead academic initiatives in the Master of Physiotherapy program with a focus on sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
  • Enhance UQ's global reputation in sport-related education, particularly in light of the upcoming 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games.
  • Contribute to the establishment of a Paralympic Centre of Excellence on campus.
  • Engage with government and industry to optimize UQ’s impact during the 2032 Games.
  • Provide leadership in teaching and research, fostering a collaborative educational environment.
  • Deliver innovative curriculum design and supervise Higher Degree by Research students.
  • Drive significant research initiatives that yield international recognition.
  • Cultivate relationships with industry and community stakeholders.

Requirements
  • Hold a PhD in physiotherapy or a related field.
  • Demonstrate a sustained record of excellence in teaching and research with international recognition.
  • Strong publication record in reputable refereed journals.
  • Proven experience in leading strategic research agendas and teams.
  • Successfully secured significant external research funding.
  • High-quality teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Experience in course coordination and curriculum innovation.
  • Strong history of supervising Honours and Higher Degree Research students to successful completion.
  • Hold meaningful leadership roles within academic and professional contexts.
  • Qualification as a titled sports and/or musculoskeletal physiotherapist is highly desirable.
