Salary
  • $133,307 pa to $153,715 pa (level C) + 14.25% superannuation

Responsibilities
  • Teach foundational and advanced computer science courses with a focus on artificial intelligence, data science, and cyber security specialisations;
  • Actively contribute to the design and development of curriculum with reference to contemporary advancements in computer science discipline;
  • Lead high quality research projects and contribute to knowledge through scholarship, publication and presentation and execute a research plan that aligns with University’s strategic research priorities including securing external funding and maintaining up-to-date research records;
  • Provide management, as appropriate, in the coordination and delivery of courses. This may include coordinating sessional academic staff;
  • Contribute to the governance, marketing and promotion, and administrative activities to promote the discipline, School and wider University.

Requirements
  • Possession of a doctoral qualification in computer science, or equivalent accreditation and/or standing.
  • Membership of the Australian Computer Society.
  • Experienced in supervision of honours, and higher degree by research students.
  • Demonstrated experience in attracting internal and national competitive grants.
  • A record of research in computer science discipline in particular; artificial intelligence, data science, and cyber security which demonstrate a capacity to make an autonomous contribution
  • Teaching experience, including the ability to develop and deliver computer science courses, particularly in artificial intelligence, data science, and cyber security including machine learning, deep learning, data visualisation, data analytics, network security, cryptography, and digital forensics at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, which includes the capacity to incorporate new technologies and new approaches to teaching and learning
  • Strong networking skills and an ability to support the national and international positioning of the school in computer science or cognate disciplines
