Base salary range: Level B, $113,934 – $134,824 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

Responsibilities

Contribute to and lead the preparation of research and review papers in the field of applied bioinformatics.
Undertake applied bioinformatics research.
Support the continued success of the applied bioinformatics group.
Supervise other research team members involved in the projects.
Contribute to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate level courses or units.

Requirements

PhD in applied bioinformatics, or a relevant combination of experience and education or training.
Experience in genome analysis, preferably with plant genomes.
Extensive experience in writing scientific manuscripts and reports.
Proficiency in a range of computing skills including Linux and specialist bioinformatics software.
Knowledge and experience of pangenomics or machine learning applications is desirable.
