Salary
  • Base salary range: Level B, $113,934 – $134,824 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to and lead the preparation of research and review papers in the field of applied bioinformatics.
  • Undertake applied bioinformatics research.
  • Support the continued success of the applied bioinformatics group.
  • Supervise other research team members involved in the projects.
  • Contribute to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate level courses or units.

Requirements
  • PhD in applied bioinformatics, or a relevant combination of experience and education or training.
  • Experience in genome analysis, preferably with plant genomes.
  • Extensive experience in writing scientific manuscripts and reports.
  • Proficiency in a range of computing skills including Linux and specialist bioinformatics software.
  • Knowledge and experience of pangenomics or machine learning applications is desirable.
